Microsoft Entra SSO Now Available for Enterprise Domain Management

DNSimple has released our implementations of Google and Okta as single sign-on providers. Many of you have used the feature to log in via your Okta account or Google Workspace as well as linking your social/personal account.
Today, we're following up on that success with Entra — another widely-used, highly-requested SSO provider. Using Entra as an identity provider for single sign-on streamlines the login experience for you and your team and helps you manage risk at scale.
Our Entra Single Sign-On integration will improve employee on-boarding for account administrators and streamline the login process for all linked users. This feature is available to all DNSimple Enterprise customers.
Let's talk about why this is important and how you can use our Entra SSO for your organization.
What is SSO?
Single sign-on allows users to access multiple applications with one set of login credentials — simplifying password and username management for large enterprises, smaller organizations, and individuals.
DNSimple offers Google SSO on every plan, Okta SSO on the Teams plan and higher, and Entra SSO for Enterprise plans.
Why should my organization use SSO?
SSO makes it easier for your team to access DNSimple and reduces the overhead of managing team members. It centralizes your organization's identity security so you can manage risk at scale. Access is limited to users within your corporate domain and helps protect important domain names and DNS configurations.
Our SSO implementation integrates with our existing Domain Access Control features, so you can manage access for each team member on a per-domain basis. It also reduces the burden of managing each team member in your DNSimple account, while still providing strong control over who can or can't join.
Enabling Entra Single Sign-On
To configure login with SSO through Entra, you must:
- Have Application Administrator access to a Microsoft Entra account.
- Have administrator access to a DNSimple account.
- Be subscribed to a DNSimple Enterprise plan.

Once Entra SSO is enabled on an account, any member assigned to the Entra application can log in to DNSimple. When someone signs in for the first time, an email is sent to the account owner indicating a new team member has signed in to the account. Anyone with full access can configure access roles for the new team member. If a team member exists in the account prior to connecting, they will need to log in first and link their Entra identity.

If you already have a DNSimple account on our Enterprise tier, and Entra for your organization, you can start using Entra as your identity provider today.
