What's New at DNSimple - Spring 2025
Over the past few months, the team here at DNSimple has been busy enhancing your app experience, adding new features, and making our support docs even more user-friendly with a series of video explainers that illustrate some commonly asked DNS questions. Our CEO was interviewed by Craig Hewitt at Rogue Startups and Code Story's Noah Labhart, and we think you'll enjoy listening to their insightful conversations. We've also got an upcoming event that you won't want to miss.
As always, click any of the links below to learn more. If you're not using DNSimple yet, find your plan, and give these new features and more a try free for 30 days.
DNSimple + Terraform webinar
Join us for an exclusive webinar in collaboration with Adam Rowen from Hashicorp, our CEO Anthony Eden as moderator, and Stephen Nelson, DNSimple engineer.
Learn how you can leverage DNSimple's Terraform integration to simplify DNS management, save time, and improve reliability for your businesses. Discover the advantages of using DNSimple's Terraform provider for DNS, domain, and SSL certificate management. You'll see a demo of DNSimple's Terraform provider in action, get tips and best practices from the DNSimple team, and have the opportunity to ask any questions you have about managing DNS and domains using Terraform.
If you want to learn more about how other companies have simplified their DNS management, saved time, and improved reliability, read our case studies from RubyGems, Noumena Digital and PreFab.
You can also read more about automating your domain registration and management with Terraform in this post, or learn how to use Terraform to manage domain transfer locking and contacts.
Digital wallet
Our latest feature update is our new digital wallet for Enterprise plan clients. This wallet lets you add funds for ongoing fees like renewals, registrations, transfers, and SSL certificates. You can set a limit and replenish your wallet as needed. While automatic replenishment isn't available just yet, we do have that planned for an upcoming iteration, so keep an eye out for that update.
You can read more about the digital wallet and get all the details in our support documentation.
Domain delegation improvements
You'll no longer see Manual Secondary DNS as an option. Edit delegation (aka change name servers) is now set up to prevent errors, and Outbound Secondary DNS (aka Secondary DNS as Primary) and vanity name servers check the name servers the domain is delegating to to prevent breaking the domain's resolution. Customers across all plans will see the changes to Manual Secondary DNS, Outbound Secondary DNS, and edit delegation. Only customers on the Enterprise plans will be impacted by the vanity name server updates.
Domain delegation improvements are all outlined in this post.
Just want the TL;DR? We're simplifying these interactions and preventing errors in your delegation.
New podcasts and video support guides
Our CEO, Anthony Eden, has been speaking with some industry experts on their podcasts. He talked with Rogue Startups about being an early AI skeptic and how to leverage AI as an entrepreneur, and to Code Story about all things DNSimple. There are more being released in the near future, so stay tuned!
We're also creating a video series on some of our most popular support articles. Right now, you can learn more about:
- How A records work
- Common DNS records
- The differences among A, CNAME, ALIAS, and URL records
- What an SSL subject alternative name is
We'll be producing more of these over the coming months — subscribe to our YouTube channel for all the latest.

Anthony Eden
I break things so Simone continues to have plenty to do. I occasionally have useful ideas, like building a domain and DNS provider that doesn't suck.
We think domain management should be easy.
That's why we continue building DNSimple.
